Koen Allwood (15) from Barton, died after he was hit by a blue coloured Peugeot 306 as he and a 15 year old girl were crossing the road on Wednesday, November 13. In a statement released by Humberside Police, the family of Koen said: "Koen was born on 8/12/97 at Castle Hill Hospital. "He was an accomplished swimmer at Baysgarth Leisure Centre and played cornet with Barton Town youth Band. He was an avid computer game player with an online identity - Kodinn. His favourite games were world of Warcraft and Starcraft and had a huge online community of friends. "He'd known the girl he was with since he was three or four and had recently joined Explorer Scouts where they went on adventures together. "He was walking her home when he was killed. They had just finished presenting their debut online radio show on Wild Cube. Fifty minutes later he was taken from us. "He'd always wanted to work in radio or journalism. He leaves behind a 12 year old brother who thought the world of him and a family and community left in devastation. His final selfless act was to walk (the girl) 500 metres home- a thing he'd done so many times before. This is the kind of gentleman he was."
