Missing girl, 13, urged to contact her family This is Leicestershire --

Police have issued a plea for a missing 13-year-old girl to get in touch.

Erika Kacicova was last seen last Monday afternoon, when she left her family's home in Darnall, Sheffield.

Detective Inspector Helen Tate, from South Yorkshire Police, told a press conference: "This is out of character for her. She's not been missing like this before for such a period of time.

"I really do need you, Erika, to get in touch with the police and let us know you're safe."

A 22-year-old man from Bradford arrested on suspicion of her abduction has been released on police bail.

Ms Tate described the relationship between the girl and the man as "a friendship" and said he was still "of interest" to the inquiry.

She also urged anyone with information about Erika to come forward.

"I really do plead that you get in touch with us and let us know so we can just ensure she's safe.

"Erika's not in trouble. There's nothing she's done wrong. We really do just want her to come home and make sure she's safe," she said.

Officers are searching for Erika in Darnall, while "various lines of investigation" have led to police looking for her in Bradford, Ms Tate said.

Police described Erika as eastern European, 4ft 11in, slim, with long, dark brown straight hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen last Monday at about 4pm, wearing blue jeans, a pink polo shirt and a silver-grey jacket. Reported by This is 14 hours ago.
