This is Plymouth -- A MAN who raped a drunken student in a city park has been told he faces a long prison sentence. Craig Goldstone, aged 29, dragged the girl into bushes and attacked her in Devonport Park, a jury decided at Plymouth Crown Court today. Goldstone, of no fixed address, had denied rape on July 5 last year. He was found guilty by a jury after nearly six hours of deliberations following a retrial. Goldstone shrugged but gave little reaction as the forewoman announced the verdict. There were muffled gasps and crying from Goldstone's family in the back of the court. Judge Paul Darlow remanded Goldstone in custody for psychiatric reports to be prepared. He will be sentenced on September 13. The panel of six men and six women at Plymouth Crown Court retired to consider its verdict on Craig Goldstone at lunchtime yesterday. Goldstone has claimed they had consensual sex.
