Cwmavon bus driver Alyn Davies, 45, convicted of sexually abusing schoolgirl as he drove her home This is South Wales -- A BUS driver has been convicted of sexually assaulting a schoolgirl as he drove her home. Alyn Davies, 45, was found guilty by the jury of eight men and four women sitting at Swansea Crown Court. He showed no emotion as the foreman returned the jury's verdict after three hours. He was convicted of "cupping" the girl's bottom with one hand and putting his other hand around her chest as she got off the bus. The incident happened as Davies, from Penllyn, Cwmavon, was driving pupils home from a school in Neath Port Talbot. The school, or details of where the assault happened, cannot be reported to protect the identity of the victim. The prosecution called a number of other young witnesses to give evidence about what they saw during the incident. The witnesses recounted incidents where Davies had made inappropriate comments to or about them. One witness said he had commented about her bottom. Prosecuting barrister Patrick Griffiths said these demonstrated Davies had a sexual interest in the pupils and the attack was not him playing around as he had claimed in his police interview. The girl said she reported the incident two days after it took place because Davies made further comments to her. She said he called her mother "sexy" and had tried showing off to her with his driving and was shouting at members of the public. She said: "What he did was wrong and to touch someone in that way, it's not right. Nobody deserves to be touched in that way." During his evidence, Davies took to the stand and admitted he had been unprofessional but denied touching the girl. Davies's barrister Huw Rees asked for a pre-sentence report to be ordered before sentence was passed. Davies was given conditional bail until the next hearing. Reported by This is 15 hours ago.
