This is Hull and East Riding -- Children and parents are being warned to be vigilant after a man approached a young girl as she was walking home from a youth club in Bridlington.The 14-year-old girl was walking along Hiderthorpe Road at 10pm last Friday (April 19) when she was approached by the man in a car in front of the Ford Garage.
The man is said to have spoken to the teenager and invited her into his car but the girl refused and ran away home where she informed her parents about the incident.
The man did not get out of his car and made no attempt to touch the girl, the exchange was only verbal.The man, who was driving a silver coloured car and was alone in the vehicle, drove off after the conversation.
It is unclear what the intentions of the driver were and police would like to identify and speak to him.The driver, or anyone who saw the teenager or the car on Hilderthorpe Road in Bridlington at the relevant time, is asked to contact police on 101 referring to log 849 of 19 April 2013 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
