A YOUNG girl and her father have been rescued by the emergency services after they became stuck in mud at Combeinteignhead near Newton Abbot. The girl, who was six or seven years old, wandered away from her family, who were visiting Coombe Cellars on the first day of their holiday from London. She became stuck on the mud flats of the River Teign, and when her father went to her aid, he became stuck too. The rescue involved all of the emergency services.
