Eastbourne police are investigating an incident on the promenade between the Pavillion tea rooms and the Pier at about 6.30pm on Thursday 3 July, in which a four-year old girl received facial injuries when she was in collision with two cyclists who were cycling eastbound.
The cyclists did not stop and the girl was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital to be treated for cuts and bruises. She was discharged later that evening and is recovering at home with her family.
The cyclists were both described as white, in their 20's, wearing blue shorts and were bare chested riding mountain bikes.
Sergeant Julian Williams said; "This section of the promenade is a no cycling zone. We are investigating this incident and are keen for any witnessess or the cyclists to come forward. If you can help please contact us on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 1455 of 3/7.
"Town centre CCTV has pictures of the cyclists which we will consider releasing to the media should they not come forward."
