Attempted robbery in Caterham

This is Surrey -- A 16-yead-old was punched in the face and suffered cuts to her legs and stomach, after a would-be robber tried to steal her handbag.
Surrey Police is now appealing for information on the attempted robbery which happened in Croydon Road, Caterham.
The attempted robbery took place around 9.10pm on Wednesday, February 13, when the girl was approached from behind by the offender.
The offender grabbed and punched the girl in the face resulting in minor injuries.
She also suffered cuts to her legs and stomach during the assault in which the offender attempted to grab her handbag.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Portia Andrews from CID, said: "This was a shocking assault on a young girl which has left her deeply shaken and the ordeal will no doubt stay with her for some time.
"Detectives are currently working with local officers from the Tandridge Safer Neighbourhood Team in a bid to locate the offender and bring them to justice and we will do all we can to achieve this."
The offender left empty handed in the direction of Caterham Valley.
Witnesses are asked to call police on non-emergency number 101, quoting reference TD/13/753.
