Pervert jailed after abusing young girls This is Staffordshire --

PAEDOPHILE Russell Haddock has been jailed after sexually abusing three children.

The father-of-two was sentenced to seven years in prison after being convicted of eight counts of indecency.

Yesterday Chester Crown Court heard the 30-year-old, pictured, targeted three young girls, all aged below 13, in the early 2000s.

The abuse – which took place over three years – came to light after one of the victims broke down during an argument with a relative.

Haddock, who moved to an address in Clarence Grove, Crewe from South Africa, committed offences with one victim about 20 times.

The court was also told that Haddock had warned his victims he would hurt their mothers if they spoke out.

Oliver King, prosecuting, said: "None of the girls spoke a word until the end of 2011 and it was clear when they told the police t they were still suffering the emotional effects."

Mr King said a family member of one of the victims had noticed a change in her behaviour and she had also 'stopped taking a pride in her appearance'.

Following the girl's revelation, the other two victims were contacted and they confirmed what had happened.

The abuse took place in a house where Haddock would insist the girls sit next to him on a sofa beneath a duvet.

The pervert would then inappropriately touch the girls before attempting to force them to fondle him. Mr King said: "After the police were notified the three girls were interviewed separately."

One victim told officers that Haddock the abuse would only end once she fled to the bathroom.

Haddock denied the allegations but was later found guilty by a jury at Chester Crown Court.

Simon Parry, defending, said: "He appears with previous good character and investigations were carried out in South Africa to see if there had been any convictions there, but there had not been. Since these offences in the early 2000s there have been no more convictions. This is somebody who will go to custody and make the best of the rehabilitative opportunities available there."

Haddock was told he would need to inform police of his whereabouts for the rest of his life.

Judge Roger Dutton said: "In my view, as an adult, you have a strange and unhealthy interest in children.

"I saw all three give evidence and the impact on them is plain and it remains to this day. One girl said that she feels angry and confused at what happened.

"She was missing school at the time and would spend time crying in her room and now she feels dirty. You had groomed the girls and engineered the situation."

Haddock was handed a five-year sentence for his abuse of one victim with a further two years for his indecency towards the others. The victims were not related to Haddock. Reported by This is 4 hours ago.
