![Police appeal after 13-year-old girl collides with car in Beaminster]()
This is Dorset -- A 13-year-old girl was hit by a car which drove off without stopping in Beaminster. The teenager from Bridport was crossing a road at the junction of Fleet Street and North Street at around 4pm on Friday February 8. A collision occurred between a car, possibly silver, and the girl as the vehicle reversed back a short distance. Luckily, the girl only sustained minor injuries to her arm and did not require hospital treatment. Police Constable Sara Mackay of Bridport Police said: "The driver was stationary at the junction waiting to pull out when the girls crossed the road. "The car then reversed back a short distance striking the arm of one of the girls. "I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact Dorset Police. "I would urge the driver to make contact with the police. All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence." Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Dorset Police, quoting incident number 08:337.
