A COURT has ordered the destruction of a dog which launched an unprovoked and vicious attack on a five-year-old girl, biting her in the face as she went to stroke it in Castle Cary town centre. The dog, a black and white Staffordshire terrier named Caine, had been left tethered to a bollard while its owner went into a shop when it bit the girl to the side of her eye leaving a bleeding wound to her left eye socket.
