This is Lincolnshire -- A pub manager has described how he comforted a shocked bus driver following a collision with a woman in Lincoln High Street. The 36-year-old woman sustained serious head injuries and died in Lincoln County Hospital following the incident near The Anchor pub at 12.39pm yesterday. Emergency services were called to the scene and the road was closed in both directions between Portland Street and Dixon Street, re-opening at around 5.45pm. Pub manager Steve Rothwell, 45, witnessed the collision from outside his bar. He said: "It's very sad and tragic. I feel sorry for the family and friends of the lady and my heart goes out to them. "I hope the bus driver is OK. After the crash he got out the bus and witnesses were giving him their names and addresses. "Everyone was paying attention to the girl. "I could tell the bus driver was really shocked. He looked confused. "I went into the pub and made him a hot sweet tea and made sure he was OK. "I told him he was welcome to wait in the pub but he said he wasn't allowed to go into a pub wearing his uniform."
