17-year-old remains in custody after attending east London police station, says Scotland Yard
Police investigating the rape of a 12-year-old girl have arrested a third boy in connection with the investigation.
The 17-year-old was arrested on Saturday after attending an east London police station, Scotland Yard said. He remains in custody on Sunday.
The girl was allegedly targeted by three young men who took her to a garage area in Hibbert Road, Walthamstow, east London, at around 12.15am last Saturday. She is said to have been raped by two of them, before calling a friend who came to help.
On Saturday two teenagers, also 17, appeared in court charged with rape. One was remanded in custody and the other was given bail with conditions. Both are due to appear at Snaresbrook crown court on 21 August. Reported by guardian.co.uk 5 hours ago.
