The LA sisters rip it up on the Pyramid stage – with Este's 'bass face' winning over the crowd
*Where and when*
Pyramid stage, 12.30pm
*Dress code*
Glastonbury 2011 T-shirt (men); floral headbands and cheek-revealing denim cut-offs (women)
*What happened*
Though they looked a little nervous, particularly singer Danielle, these LA sisters tore up the main stage with a riff-heavy set of pop-rock hits-to-be, and filled the space with an excellent display of stadium-like showmanship. "This is the best moment of my life," beamed bassist Este.
*Who's watching*
Everyone, it seems – it's a huge crowd for such an early slot. And Florence Welch.
*High point*
Other than a proper singalong for Falling – the first I've heard at this year's festival – it was amusing to watch the audience slowly fall for Este's "bass face". Soon they were cheering every time she appeared on the large screens.
*Low point*
Around two thirds of the way through, Este had a turn and had to sit down for Go Slow. "Sorry, you guys, sometimes diabetes gets the better of you," she explained. ("Have a Snickers!" the girl behind me shouted, unhelpfully.) When she stood up for the next song, the crowd roared.

Ace bass face.
